2025 Annual MarkVCID Conference
The Consortium convened in person on April 28–29 in Chicago, IL. Major discussion topics included the baseline analyses of each imaging biomarker kit, the instrumental re-validation of the Neurofilament Light (NfL) biomarker, and a review of clinical and imaging data collection across sites.
Guest speakers from outside the Consortium provided valuable insights and lessons learned from disease-modifying trials in small vessel disease (SVD), stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), prompting thoughtful discussions on how to translate those lessons into ongoing efforts.
The Consortium also explored Chicago together on a scenic boat tour, offering a unique perspective on the city’s rich history and architecture.

Kit Presentations
Kit leads presented an overview of each primary biomarker, discussed objectives, and shared initial analyses and dissemination plans. ARTS, CVR, FW, and PSMD analyses included a summary of population baseline characteristics, distribution of biomarkers and correlation among biomarkers, association between baseline biomarker results and vascular risk factors, and association between baseline biomarker results and cognition at baseline. NfL preliminary analyses included a review of instrumental validation methods and results.
